Your data
Privacy policy
Last updated: 4 October 2026
This policy explains how Prestige Worldwide Limited (“we”, “us”), the maker of Tab Bandit, handles your information. The short version: the App does its work on your own Mac, and we collect as little as possible.
1. The App keeps your data on your device
To spot stale tabs, Tab Bandit reads the titles and links (URLs) of your open browser tabs and closes tabs you’ve left idle, storing them in a local “Stash” on your Mac so you can restore them. This all happens locally on your device. Tab Bandit does not send your tabs, browsing history, or activity to us or anyone else. There is no account, no login, and no tracking or analytics inside the App.
The App goes online in only two situations. Activation: one license works on one Mac, so when you activate (or deactivate), the App sends your license key and an anonymous code for your Mac to tabbandit.app — a one-way scrambled version of the Mac’s hardware ID that can’t be traced back to it or to you. We store only which order is active on which anonymous code, so the key can’t be shared. After that the App never needs to go online for licensing. Tab icons: to show a stolen tab’s icon during the raccoon animation, it asks that website itself for its standard icon file (the same icon your browser already downloaded). The request contains nothing about you or your other tabs, and no third-party service is involved. If the icon can’t be fetched, the App shows a plain letter instead.
2. Buying the App
Purchases are handled by our Merchant of Record, Paddle.com Market Ltd. When you buy, Paddle collects the information needed to take payment and issue an invoice (such as your name, email, billing country, and payment details) under Paddle’s privacy policy. Paddle shares limited order details (such as your email and order reference) with us so we can deliver the App and provide support. We do not receive or store your card details.
3. This website
tabbandit.app is a simple, static site hosted on Netlify. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies. Our host may process basic technical logs (such as IP address and request data) to serve and secure the site.
4. Contacting us
If you email us for support, we use your email address and the contents of your message only to help you, and keep it no longer than needed.
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, or to object to its use. To exercise them, email triaymatthew@gmail.com. For payment and invoice data held by Paddle as Merchant of Record, you can also contact Paddle directly.
