A menace for your Mac · Chrome & Safari

Leave a tab too long, and a raccoon takes it.

Tab Bandit is a Mac app with a masked raccoon who creeps across your screen — over Netflix, over your slides, over anything — snatches a tab you forgot hours ago, and stashes it. You can't stop him. You never lose it.

The heist

Four beats. The same glorious ~30 seconds, every time.

When a tab crosses your idle limit, Bandit picks the stalest one and goes to work — on the screen where that tab actually lives.

Raccoon tip-toeing
01 · CREEP

He tip-toes in

Over whatever's playing — full-screen video included. There is no "not now".

Raccoon reaching for a tab
02 · GRAB

He snatches it

He lunges for the forgotten tab. The real tab closes at that exact frame.

Raccoon stashing a tab
03 · STASH

He bags it

Straight into your Stash — safe for 15 days, one click from coming back.

Raccoon doing a victory dance
04 · SCARPER

He gloats, then bolts

A little victory dance, a panicked dash off-screen. Until the next stale tab.

Nothing is ever lost

He's a thief, not a shredder.

Every stolen tab lands in the Stash — grouped by day, counting down 15 days, one click to bring it back in the right browser. Rescue something and it's off-limits for 24 hours; the raccoon takes the hint.

Why it works

Gentle terror, entirely on your terms.

Truly unstoppable

No cancel button

He performs over presentations and screen shares alike — that's the joke. If you truly must, one click sends Bandit to jail.

Your call

You set his patience

Steal after a tab's been idle anywhere from 30 minutes to 12 hours. Tune it to how much clutter you can stand.

Out of the way

Lives in the menu bar

A quiet raccoon and a count. Quick-restore your three latest from the dropdown; the rest wait in the app.

Private by design

Your tabs never leave your Mac

He only ever reads tab titles and links and closes forgotten tabs. No tracking, no cloud, no account.

Made for the bit

Hand-animated, with sound

Real frame-by-frame animation, tip-toe footsteps, bongo getaway. It's a utility that's genuinely fun to catch in the act.

More coming

A roster of thieves

Bandit ships first. A meerkat, a fox and a possum are waiting in the wings — each with their own victory dance.

Before you ask

The obvious questions.

Will it actually delete my tabs?

No. A stolen tab goes to the Stash and sits there for 15 days. Restore it in one click and it reopens in the right browser. He never destroys anything.

Which browsers does it work with?

Chrome and Safari at launch, via macOS's built-in automation — nothing to install. Firefox support is on the way.

Won't it embarrass me on a screen share?

…Yes. That's rather the point. But if you have a big demo, one click puts Bandit in jail until you let him out.

Is my data private?

Completely. Tab Bandit only reads tab titles and links and closes forgotten tabs. Nothing ever leaves your Mac — no account, no cloud, no tracking.

Do I need to sign up?

Never. You pay once, download, and use it. No login, no subscription, no recurring anything.
